Name: Edward Elric
Canon: Fullmetal Alchemist (Manga)
Age: 16
Appearance: Edward has light skin, long blonde hair usually tied up in a braid or ponytail, and has golden colored eyes. He’s a bit on the short side for his age (as he hates being reminded), in some part due to his automail stunting his growth. By the canon point I’ve chosen, Ed is a tad taller than Winry, probably measuring around 5’4” and 5'6" with his boots. He’s well built from his constant training and fighting, so he’s pretty strong compared to other young men his age. Ed’s right arm up to his shoulder and his left leg to above the knee is automail. He typically wears black pants and shirts to conceal the grease stains from his prosthetics, and he’s also usually sporting a deep red coat with a black Flamel symbol on the back. He also wears a thick leather belt which he hooks his silver pocket watch from. Here’s Ed’s outfit upon arrival.
Ed’s automail changes as he gets upgrades from Winry. By now, Ed has been upgraded to cold climate automail due to having business in the frigid Briggs mountains to prevent him from getting frostbite. Ed’s arm has a distinct new design from what he has throughout earlier parts of the series. His leg is also changed and it’s style matches Edward’s arm. Winry also makes him a shin guard for extra durability.
Canon Point: Chapter 76 (Pg 116 of Volume 19 )
Background: Ed’s wiki page
Personality:
- Hotheaded (especially when someone points out his lack of height)
- Bad taste in fashion (Just gonna leave this here, mostly because it makes me giggle every time.)
- Both Immature and Very Mature (When the situation calls for it, Ed can be very mature and look insightfully at a situation or even himself. He’s also a teenager though, and we see him act immaturely a lot too, like when Ling mentions he’s almost a year younger than Ed, but he’s still a whole head taller than him, or when he gets in arguments with Al.)
- Compassionate (easily empathizes with others, especially in times of hardship)
- Reckless (Decides risking his life in a fight with a serial killer is a great way to lure out the people he needs to capture/talk to)
- Clever (Able to make plans in advance or on the spot. How good those ideas are can vary.)
- Protective of those he loves (This section shows both his compassion and protectiveness.)
- Responsible (He takes responsibility for his own actions to the point where he actively avoids asking for help, feeling like his problems are his alone and he shouldn’t drag other people into them.)
- Intelligent (Managed to get a government license when he was 12, came up with a formula for human transmutation and able to transmute his brother’s soul at 11, able to connect the dots to figure out what’s really going on, uses logic to solve problems and interpret his surroundings)
- Skeptical (Ed’s a scientist and will disregard any rumors of magic or miracles to be either nonsense or some slight of hand trick)
- Emotional (He wears his emotions on his sleeve whether it be anger, sadness, joy, etc. Throughout the manga we see him lash out verbally and physically in anger, cry, laugh, etc.)
- Mental Illness (Ed’s been through some deep shit and shows signs of PTSD and depression)
Weaknesses/Temptations:
Ed’s short temper
Ed’s arrogance
Being offered a way to restore his brother’s body
Being offered a way to restore his own body
Being offered a way to keep his love ones safe
Sins:
Human transmutation (failed resurrection of his mom and binding his brother's soul to a suit of armor)
Failure to protect (Alphonse and Nina)
Refusal to worship
Refusal to move on from past mistakes
Agnostic (canon is pretty unclear. Whether he says he’s agnostic or atheist depends on what translation you get, though in the original Japanese he just says he’s not religious)
Assault
Threatening people
Lying
Pride
Destruction of public property
Destruction of private property
Breaking and entering
Disregarding direct order from a superior officer
Disregarding direct orders from the Fuhrer
Housing illegal aliens
Accomplice to murder (Kimbley)
Aiding in the escape of a wanted criminal (Scar)
Powers/Abilities: Edward’s an alchemist. He’s able to change the shape and composition of matter, such as transmuting a plate of his automail into a blade or forming steel from stone. He’s not all powerful with this ability, as there are certain laws that govern what you can do with alchemy, such as the conservation of mass. (You can’t make something from nothing.) The properties of what he’s transmuting from also plays an important role. For instance, Ed can transmute water from other things that are like water (say wine or vinegar or separating stuff in sea water to make fresh water) but he won’t be able to transmute water from a piece of steel or a brick. He is capable of large-scale transmutations (like transmuting an entire barn from the destroyed remains of one) but he usually tends to stick with small scale stuff like transmuting a weapon from the ground or transmuting his automail.
Edward is also an accomplished martial artist and is proficient in a variety of weapons including swords and spears. Again, he’s not all powerful, but he can usually hold his own in a fight with most opponents. He does have an advantage over your typical fighter, as he’s able to incorporate alchemy into his fighting style, whether it be transmuting a weapon for himself on the spot or transmuting his surroundings to hinder his opponent. Transmutations do take some time, even if it’s a short amount of time, so someone quick enough might be able to get around that.
I should also mention that Edward’s automail has an effect on his fighting. The cold climate automail he’s outfitted with is significantly lighter than his previous model, so he’s much faster than he used to be, even being able to outspeed Scar who was able to disable Ed in previous fights due to how slow Ed was. However, the lighter automail also packs less of a punch than his previous set.

NOTE: I'm honestly not too familiar with kinks. Not sure how they can apply outside of actual sex, but I am willing to learn more about this if anyone has the patience to deal with that. I'm kind of embarrassed to admit it, but I'm still working on educating myself from the sheltered life I had in regards to sex. Sorry.

NAME: Edward Elric
CANON: Fullmetal Alchemist (Manga)
CANON POINT: Chapter 76, specifically, here.
AGE: 16
BACKGROUND: Here.
PERSONALITY:
- Emotional: Edward tends to wear his emotions out on his sleeves. It’s never too hard to read him, and even in cases where others might not be sure about his emotional state, they usually won’t have to wait long to figure it out. Ed’s most commonly known for his explosive temper and is seen throughout the series yelling and even smacking or attacking other characters for seemingly small offenses. Calling him short will just about always end up in the other person ending up with a black eye, or at the very least get an explosive response from Ed. Anger isn’t the only emotion Ed has trouble with though. Throughout the series, it’s also fairly common to see him cry, or at the very least, see him fall into low, depressive states. These usually don’t last long due to other characters bringing him out of it or the plot coming in to rouse him, but it should be noted that he’s prone to falling into slumps after some sort of trauma or intense situation. Of course, Ed is capable of experiencing more positive emotions. He gets embarrassingly excited after Winry successfully delivers a baby in Rush Valley, for example.
- Compassionate: Despite his temper, Ed is a very caring and compassionate young man. He often shows empathy for other people experiencing hardships and is seen several times throughout the series going out of his way to help people. The best example of this is probably the situation in Youswell, where he used his wit to obtain the deed to the mines from the corrupt Lieutenant in order to immediately sell it to the miners for the price of one night’s stay and two meals in one of their homes. Edward is also surprisingly good around children. He’s capable of empathizing with them pretty easily, and he does his best to treat them as intelligent human beings, especially considering he hates being treated like a child by adults.
- Skeptical: Edward prides himself on being an alchemist and thus, a scientist. He doesn’t put any faith in religion and he will outright dismiss magic and miracles as being either nonsense or someone pulling some kind of slight-of-hand trick. If he doesn’t understand how something works, he will either make an attempt to figure it out or dismiss it as something he just doesn’t have enough knowledge or experience in to explain, depending on how interested he is in the situation and how much it bothers him. Despite how stubborn he can be, he is still capable of questioning any of his fundamental beliefs as long as he’s given evidence that contradicts them, and he does understand that even the most solid scientific theory isn’t necessarily set in stone.
- Arrogant: Ed’s smart and strong and he knows it. His major arc through the series is him overcoming his arrogance, though by his canon-point he’s mostly been put in his place. He is certainly not perfect though, and he has no qualms with pointing out when other people are wrong (or at least letting them know he thinks they’re wrong). Because of this, he often comes off as rough around the edges to other people and he can be difficult to get along with at times. However, once given a chance for his temper to cool off, he can still come back to see where he went wrong. When he finds himself in the wrong, he is certainly not above apologizing and doing whatever he can to remedy his mistakes.
- Maturity: Edward is able to handle most stressful situations and acts like an adult when he needs to. He takes responsibility for his actions and he fully expects others to do the same. However, Ed is still very much a child, and there are times where it shows. He is still very childish about his Napoleon complex and he also has problems of rushing head-first into something without completely thinking things through, much to the dismay of his younger brother, Alphonse. While Ed can approach a problem with a calm and collected logic, it’s also entirely possible for a stray comment or some kind of shenanigan to send him into a thoughtless argument over something stupid in seconds.
POWERS/ABILITIES:
- Alchemy: Ed’s an accomplished alchemist, meaning he is able to analyze, deconstruct, and reconstruct matter. This usually means changing the shape of an object (most often his automail arm into a blade) or change the make-up of on object (for example, turning steel into aluminum). There are limits to this power, such as the law of equivalent exchange, which basically states that you can’t create something out of nothing. There’s also limits on what you can transmute based on the chemical make-up of something. For example, you can’t transmute water out of lead and visa versa. A metal can only be made from another metal.
- Combat: Edward’s an expert at hand-to-hand combat and can also use his alchemy to supplement his combat. He will almost always transmute his automail to form some kind of blade as a part of his arm, though he will often transmute spears or swords to fight with out of whatever he can grab from his surroundings. Another alchemical supplement is transmuting the ground to make obstacles for his opponent or to change the environment to give him an edge in a fight (i.e. making a platform for himself to jump from in order to reach a taller opponent’s head). From the canon point I’m taking Ed from, he has a lighter, cold-resistant automail which has given him the ability to move much faster than his heavier automail allowed, though it has also resulted in his blows being lighter than before. While certainly not invincible, Edward is more than capable of handling himself against most foes, though others highly skilled and experienced in fighting can give him a challenge or manage to beat him.
- Intelligence: Edward is quite a clever person. It’s stated throughout the series that alchemy can be quite difficult for some people to grasp, and Edward is regarded as a genius when it comes to that as he was able to obtain a State Alchemist license when he was twelve. He can be naïve at times, but that is a result more of his young age and inexperience than any lack of intelligence on his part. When given the time to do so, he can hatch good plans, as seen at Youswell, and he can also think quickly on his feet when he needs to. He's able to wrap his head around most complex ideas and would likely pick up anything he set his mind to rather quickly.
INVENTORY:
- Silver pocket watch
- Winry’s earrings
- Wallet with Amestrian currency (about 50,000 Cenz)

Are you over 18? Yes
Other characters: N/A
Character's Name: Edward Elric
Character's Canon: Fullmetal Alchemist (Manga)
Profile for your character:
Physical Appearance: Edward Elric is a slightly shorter than average young man of about 16 years. He has long blonde hair which he usually keeps up in a braid or ponytail, though he has long unkempt bangs that hang in front of his face. Of course, you can’t forget his little hair antenna either. He has golden eyes and is in very good physical fitness, save for his missing right arm and left leg which he lost over a failed human transmutation. In their place, he has automail prosthetics which are a bioelectrical system to allow Edward mobility and normal function as if they were his real limbs. The automail is traditionally made of steel, though by the point at which I’m taking Edward he had been upgraded to cold-weather automail which is composed of other compounds to prevent frostbite in frigid climates. Edward generally wears black clothing. Part of the reason is to hide the unavoidable grease stains from his automail, and the other is histerrible questionable taste in fashion.
Personality: Ed has a very loud personality. He speaks his mind and doesn’t seem to care much about what most people think about it. He also has a hot temper and tends to solve his problems through violence rather than more rational means. In contrast to this however, Ed has very high morals and is adamant about sticking to them, especially taking the life of another. While Ed might grab you by your shirt and beat your face in, he’s not about to beat you so badly that you die from it.
Despite his rough edges, Ed is a rather compassionate young man and is often seen sympathizing with other characters, even to the point where said characters get frustrated and chide him for taking pity on them. There are multiple occasions through the story in which Ed goes out of his way to help others, often at great risk to his title as State Alchemist or even his life.
Edward is very driven and determined and he doesn’t like to be idle. His main motivation in the story is to restore his brother’s body and his own limbs that were lost during the rebound that occurred when he and Al tried to resurrect their mother, and it carries him through many obstacles and hardships that might be too daunting for others. As much as Alphonse doesn’t like it, Edward tends to carry the majority of the responsibility for what happened to their bodies and he sees it has his sole duty to rectify it. He understands that it was his own actions that got him to where he is now, and he doesn’t expect nor want anyone to be drawn in to his problems.

Edward had been surprised to see Alphonse when he arrived in Riverview. He was even more surprised to see his bother instead of the seven-foot-tall suit of armor his soul had been bound to for the past five years, and not only that, but he looked healthy and well fed. Ed had just seen Al’s body in the portal, seen how thin and weak it was from years of literally sitting there doing nothing but waiting for his soul, but now here he was. As healthy and lively as ever, and for some reason, wearing his clothes. A few of his physical features were different too. His hair was darker and he wore it long unlike when they were younger and it was cut nice and short. There was also a strange color to his eyes. It wasn’t the same golden color that Ed had, nor was it the same as the color of the eyes the other Al had.
There was another concern. Neither of their experiences matched up. At least, not after the fiasco when they had tried to resurrect their mother. There were similarities at first, but even then there were details that were too different to ignore, and those were the memories that they supposedly shared. Ed could see the similarities between this person that called himself Alphonse Elric and the body of his brother that he had seen in the portal, but there was just too much that was just…off. This wasn’t Alphonse, not the one he knew. That much was clear to Edward. However, he couldn’t deny the same confusion that this “Al” experienced when they had spoken to each other. He had been told that other worlds existed, and just seeing Riverview had been proof of that, but was it possible for other worlds to be so similar to each other?
It was still dark when Ed woke up that morning, and the apartment was silent. He had gone over to “his” place where Al said he was staying. He had crashed on the couch in the common area due to the fact that there was an unknown woman in his bed. Apparently, his doppelganger had been sharing it. How and why were unimportant for the moment. What was important now was figuring out what the hell he was going to do with himself now that he was here.
Why do you believe your character is an appropriate fit for this game? I think it would be interesting to see how Ed would develop as a character where there are gods and godly powers, especially since he’s so skeptical of such things. It’s actually how he would clash with this world that makes him an interesting character to play in such an environment. His alchemy would also draw attention from the NPCs and PCs alike and make for some interesting development.
What would you like to do with your character in this game? I tend to just app in and go with the flow of CR and events, but I like to think that Ed would have to quickly break out of his SCIENCE mindset to adapt. I think he would be focusing on trying to find a way back to his home world, but depending on what goes down, there is a possibility that someone could eventually convince him to take a throne for the benefit of the people of this world.

Part of the reason is to hide the unavoidable grease stains from his automail, and the other is his
Personality: Ed has a very loud personality.
